People choose their President by voting directly, like they do in USA (Presidential system), whereas in Parliamentary system like in India, the elected members of the Parliament elect the President.
The President gets elected for a fixed term, like in USA, the President gets elected for 4 years, however, that is the same in Parliamentary system like in India too where the President is elected for 5 years.
The legislative, executive and judicial powers of the government in a Presidential system are separated and vested in the three independent organs of the government. While in Parliamentary system, the ministers are members of both the legislature and the executive, which would mean a person can't be a minister without being a member of the Parliament.
