Question:
If sinθ+cosθ=2cos(900−θ), then cotθ is,
Options:
A)

\(\sqrt[]{2}\) -1

B)

\(\sqrt[]{2}+1\)

C)

0

D)

\(\sqrt[]{2}\)

Solution:

Ans: (A)

sinθ+cosθ=2cos(900−θ),

Or, sinθ+cosθ=2sinθ.

Dividing the equation by sinθ leaves only cotθ in the equation and so the result in two steps,

sinθ+cosθ=2sinθ,

Or, 1+cotθ=2,

Or, cotθ=2−1.

=2−1.
