Question:
See the figure of a roof-top house given below. 


Find the volume of the house 

Options:
A) 824 cm3 
B) 480 cm
C) 840 cm3 
D) 428 cm3 
Solution:
Ans: (c) The volume of the top roof 

= \(\cfrac{1}{2}\) × the area of the surface ABCD × height of CH

= \(\cfrac{1}{2}\) × 6 × (9 + 5) × 20 = 840 cm3.

ABCD is a trapezium with side AB parallel to CD. Then apply formula of area of trapezium.

as u can see height is varying from 9 to 5 cm.......so we will take mean of 9 and 5 in this case
