Dear Student,
Detailed explanation-
pipe A can fill the tank in 1 hr. = 1/60 part
pipe B can fill the tank in 1 hr. = 1/40 part
Pipe A and B can fill the tank in 1 hr.= 1/24
Let time required to fill the tank is = T hour

According to question,
pipe B can fill the tank in 1 hr. = 1/40 part
pipe B can fill the tank in T/2 hr. = 1/40* T/2= T/80

Pipe A and B can fill the tank in 1 hr.= 1/24
Pipe A and B can fill the tank in T/2 hr.= 1/24*T/48= T/48

T/80+T/48= 1 (Both are filled the tank completely)

T(3+5)/240=1
T= 240/8
T= 30 hr.

I hope you got it.
