Angle between 6km and 8 km will be 90 degrees(south-west to north-east direction). So in order to touch point A, it has to travel atleast sqrt(9^2-8^2) = 4.123km. bBut it has travelled greater than 4.123km i.e. 6km, hence it should surpass point A and answer should be north-east.

Question:

Lalit walks 9 km East, turns South-West and walks another 8 km. He again takes a turn towards North-West and walks another 6 km. In which direction from his starting point is he standing now?

Options:
A) North-East
B) South-East
C) West
D) East
Solution:

Ans: (b) South-East
