Here adverb nonchalantly qualifies Verb appear so what’s the problem then? Please elaborate rr.

Solution:
Sol: (b) Error of adverb. “Nonchalantly” should be replaced with “nonchalant”.

here nonchalant is used as an adjective only. they mean that officers must look/seem/appear nonchalant to anyone who looks at them
