that happens only in case of isosceles right angle triangle

Question:
In ∆ABC, ∠B is a right angle, AC = 6cm, and D is the mid-point of AC. The length of BD is:
Options:
A) 4 cm
B) 2 cm
C) 3 cm
D) 1.5 cm
Solution:

In the right-angled triangle the length of median to the hypotenuse is half the length of the hypotenuse.

Hence, BD = \(\cfrac{1}{2}\) AC = 3 cm
