The HCF of two numbers is 98 and their LCM is 2352. The sum of the numbers may be–

Options:
A)

1078

B)

1398

C)

1426

D)

1484

Solution:

Ans:(a) Let the two numbers be 98a and 98b.

Then, their sum = 98(a + b)

So, their sum is a multiple of 98.

Only option (A) is divisible by 98.

∴ Sum of numbers = 1078

hcf = 98 means number will be 98a 98b where a and b will be co prime. and lcm*hcf= product of numbers.... so 98a*98b= 2352*98 implies ab= 24, hence possibility for a and b will be (1,24) or (8,3) .
if a,b is 1and 24 then sum of numbers = 98(24+1) = 2450
if a,b is 8 and 3 then sum of numbers= 98(8+3)= 1078.

then how is this possible that sum would be 1372??????????????

bhai lcm divisible hai 98 se. 2352 = 98*24.
