Solution:
Ans: (b) log2 (x + 1) < 2

\(\Rightarrow\) 22 > x + 1

\(\Rightarrow\) 4 > x + 1

\(\Rightarrow\) 3 > x                 ... (1)

But log of zero and negative number are not possible.

\(\therefore\) x + 1 \(>\) 0

\(\Rightarrow\) x \(>\) -1               ... (2)

Combining (1) and (2)

-1 \(<\) x < 3.
