Question:

    Average earning of each member of the Akash’ family is 50% less than the average earning of each member of Shahid’s family and total earning of Akash’s family is 33.33% more than that of Shahid’s family. The number of persons of Shahid’s family is what percentage of the number of persons of Akash’s family.

Options:
A)

  20%

B)

  25%

C)

     37.5%

D)

  33.33%

Solution:

Let the No. of members in Akash’s family =  x

And the no. of member’s in Shahid’s family =  y

Total earning of Akash’s family = 400

Total earning of Shahid’s family = 300

Average earning of Akash’s family =  400x

Average earning of Shahid’s family =  300y

According to question

400x=300y×50100

xy=83

So, the number of Shahid’s family members is % of Akash’s family members

38×100=37.5%
