Some part of Rs.1550 was lent at 5% and the remaining part at 8% simple interest. After 3 years, Rs.300 is earned as interest. Find the ratio of part given at 5% and 8%.

D) 16 : 15
Solution:
Ans: (d)

Let the amount given on 5% = x, then

The amount given on 8% = (1550 – x)

A.T.Q., 


The amount given on 8% = (1550 – 800) = 750 

\(\therefore\) Required ratio = 800 : 750 = 16 : 15
