Please explain this problem. I can't understand how todo this.

Question:

A person can reach a place in 50 days by walking and resting for 9 hours a day. If he doubles his speed and also rests for double time then in how many days will he cover the double distance?

Options:
A) 126
B) 128
C) 125
D) 129
Solution:
Ans: (c)

 \(\cfrac{M_1\ d_1\ T_1}{W_1}=\cfrac{M_2\ d_2\ T_2}{W_2}\)

\(\cfrac{1\times50\times15}{1}=\cfrac{1\times6\times x\times2}{2}\)    (where x is the time taken)

\(x=\cfrac{50\times15}{6}=125\) days

Alternative solution-

He walks = 24 -9 =15 hours per day

So the total time he walk would be=15\(\times\)50=750 hours

Let the speed be s,distance be d and time is t.

\(t=\frac{d}{s}\)=750

He doubles his speed  (s\(\times\)2) and will cover the double distance (d

\(\times\)2) then new time would be still be same ie.\(\frac{(d×2)}{(s×2)}\)=\(\frac{d}{s}\)=750 hours

He rests twice more then he did before,so he would walk=24-(2\(\times\)9)=6 hours per day.

So required number of days would be=\(\frac{750}{6}=125\) days

assume the person walks 1km per 1 hr
then according to the question he walks 15 hrs and rests 9 hr per day
=>he walks 15 km per 1 day
in 50 days he walks 15*50=750 km

now he doubles the rest i.e he rests 18 hrs and walks 6 hrs per day
and also doubles his speed i,e he walks 12 km per day
double the distance ==750*2 = 1500
so 1 day he walks 12 km and total distance =1500
no of days =1500/12
===125days
