it is redundant

Question:

DIRECTIONS: In the following questions, some of the sentences have errors and some are correct. Find out which part of a sentence has an error and blacken the oval corres-ponding to the appropriate letter (a, b, c). If a sentence is free from errors, blacken the oval corresponding to (d) in the Answer Sheet.

Radha came to the meeting (a)/much later (b)/than i expect. (c)/No error. (d)

Options:
A)

(a)

B)

(b)

C)

(c)

D)

(d)

Solution:

Ans: (c) Replace 'I expect' with 'I had expected'. We use the past perfect (had expected) because the action happened before another action in the past (Radha came to the meeting).
