he saves 40380 monthly and doesnt spend on trasportation

Question:
Mr. Yadav spends 60% of his monthly income on electric appliances and 50% of the remaining on clothes and transportation. If he saves Rs. 484560 annually, then what amount does he spend on clothes and transportation monthly ?
Options:
A) Rs. 40380
B) Rs. 8076
C) Rs. 9691.20
D) Rs. 4845.60
Solution:
Ans: (a) Let the monthly income of Mr. Yadav

= Rs. 100

expense on electricity = 60% of 100 = Rs. 60

expense on clothes & transportation = 50% of (100 -60)

= \(\cfrac{50}{100}\) × 40 = Rs. 20

\(\therefore \) saving = 40 - 20 = Rs. 20

\(\Rightarrow\) Expense on clothes & transportation

= saving = Rs. 20

\(\therefore \) Monthly expense on clothes & transportation = \(\cfrac{484560}{12}\) = Rs. 40380

It will be like this:- 484560/20*12 x20 . Since total savings for a month is 20, we would multiply it with 12 to get the annual savings as 484560 is the value of annual savings. On the other hand we would multiply it with 20 to get the monthly exp on cloth and transp.
