akash bhai your statement will b be true only when AB and BC will be equal

Question:
In \(\angle \)ABC, \(\angle \)B is a right angle, AC = 6 cm, and D is the mid-point of AC. The length of BD is :

Options:
A) 4 cm
B) 2 cm
C) 3 cm
D) 3.5 cm
Solution:
Ans: (c)

In a right angled triangle, the length of median to the hypotenuse is half the length of the hypotenuse.

Hence BD = \(\cfrac{1}{2}AC=3\) cm.

Hence BD = \(\cfrac{1}{2}\)  diameter = \(\cfrac{1}{2}\)   AC = \(\cfrac{1}{2}\)hypotenuse
