John and David work on alternate days with John starting on the first day. John does 12.5% of the

total work on the last day and finishes the work. If John alone can do the work in 6 days then which

of following can be the number of days in which David alone can do the whole work?

Options:

24 days

12 days

8 days

10 days

Solution:

Let 600 is the unit of the work

John complete 75 units of work in last day

Remaining Unit 525

John can do 100 units of work in a day.

John started on first day, he did 100 units of work

David can complete X units in a day

So, possible pairs of their work for 525 units for John & David are (100,425); (200,325); (300,225)
