Question:
DIRECTION : Study the following graph carefully and solve the questions based on it. The graph shows the production (in thousand tonnes) of three types of cloth by a textile company over the years.

If production of Raymond cloth in 2012 would decrease by 24%, then find the approximate percentage increase in 2013 for the same type of cloth over the new reduced value of 2012.
Options:
A) 11%
B) 12%
C) 14%
D) 16%
Solution:

After decreasing by 24% production of Raymond cloth will be

25 - \(\frac{25 ×24}{100}\)  = 19

Percentage increase = \(\frac{22-19}{19}\) × 100 =  \(\frac{300}{19}\) ≈ 16%
