just take the lcm of the denominators of the powers and multipy it by all the powers look
lcm of denominators of 1/18, 1/9, 1/12 and 1/6 is....36 {you can also choose multiple of the lcm but it will time taking}

now multiplying by 36 we get...
2, 4, 3, 6

now our no.s become
12^2=144 ,4^4=256,5^3=125,3^6=729
now all yours select the lowest no and mark corresponding no..as lowest

Question:

Find the smallest among $\sqrt[18]{12}$ , $\sqrt[9]{4}$ , $\sqrt[12]{5}$ and $\sqrt[6]{3}$ .

Options:

$\sqrt[18]{12}$

$\sqrt[9]{4}$

$\sqrt[12]{5}$

$\sqrt[6]{3}$

Solution:

Ans: (c) $\sqrt[18]{12}$ = 12^1/18 = 12^2/36 = (12²)^1/36 = 144^1/36

$\sqrt[9]{4}$ = 4^1/9 = 4^4/36 = (4⁴)^1/36 = 256^1/36

$\sqrt[12]{5}$ = 5^1/12 = 5^3/36 = (5³)^1/36 = 125^1/36

$\sqrt[6]{3}$ = 3^1/6 = 3^6/36 = (3⁶)^1/36 = 729^1/36

Smallest number = 125^1/36 = $\sqrt[12]{5}$
