Question:

A, B & C start a work together, after working 3 days, A left, now only 37% work be completed. B & C together complete the remaining work in next 7 days. If efficiency of B is 20% more than that of A. Then find in how many days slower person complete the whole work?

Options:
A)

30 days

B)

15 days

C)

20 days

D)

40 days

Solution:

Ans: (a)

Let total work = 100

A + B + C completes 37% work in 3 days.

Remaining 63% is done by B + C in 7 days.

Work done by B + C in 1 day = 9 unit

Let efficiency of A = x

3x + 27 = 37

x = 10/3

B = 10/3 + 2/3 = 4 days

C = 5 days

So, slower person is A and he can do in 100/10 × 3 = 30 days
