chord length is given to be 9 i.e ab=9 not ac.
AC=4.5

Question:
The radius of a circle is 15 cm. Find the length of a chord which is 9 cm from the centre of the circle. (in cm)
Options:
A) 24
B) 21.6
C) 26.4
D) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (a)

Let the center of the circle be O and the chord be AB.

Let OC be the perpendicular line drawn from O to AB, OC2 + AC2 = OA2

92 + AC2 = 152

AC = 12 cm

AB = 2AC = 24 cm
