u sud divide it by 36.5 which is the corrected avg and not by 36

Question:

While calculating the average of a batsman as 36 in 100 matches. One of the scores 90 was incorrectly noted as 40. The approximate percentage error is –

Options:
A)

0.6%

B)

1.36%

C)

1.34%

D)

1.21%

Solution:

Ans: (b) New average =  36 + 50/100 = 36.5

                          Error = (36.5 - 36 ) / 36.5 = 1.36%

Dear Student,
We have fixed it .
In denominator there should be 36.5.
But the answer is correct i.e 1.36.
