in the question it is mentioned that the age is 3 times but why have you taken 4x

Question:
Father is aged three times more than his son. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of his son’s age. After further 8 years, how many times would he be of his son’s age?
Options:
A) 2 times
B) \(2\cfrac{1}{2}\)times
C) \(2\cfrac{3}{4}\)times
D) 3 times
Solution:

Let son present age  be x  years. Then father's present age (x+3x) years  = 4x years.
