Question:
In an office, there are 125 tables and 180 chairs. If \(\cfrac{1}{5}\) of the tables and \(\cfrac{1}{4}\) of the chairs are broken. How many people can work in the office if each person requires one table and one chair?
Options:
A) 100
B) 125
C) 225
D) 70
Solution:
Ans: (aNumber of broken tables = \(\cfrac{125}{5}\) = 25

Remaining tables = 125 – 25 = 100

Number of broken chairs = 180 × \(\cfrac{1}{4}\) = 45

Remaining chairs = 180 - 45 = 135

\(\therefore\) 100 people can work in office
