Total unit = 12, Men one days work 4 unit, w=4 unit & b = 1 unit. 1/4 days work = 1, 3/4, 1/4 respectively. m+w=1+3/4 unit. remaining = 12-7/4=41/4 completed by boys. Hence total boys reqd = 41/4 *4=41
