Don't you think that that the figure should be given in the question because the the candidate taking the exam, is not in a position to predict the figure during the exam?

Question:

     In the given figure, PQRS is a trapezium in which PM||SN, NR=9cm, PS=12cm, QM=NR and NR=SN. What is the area (in cm2) of trapezium?

Options:
A)

     170

B)

     182

C)

     189

D)

     191

Solution:

PS = 12 cm

QR = 9 + 12 + 9 = 30 cm

SN = 9cm

Area of trapezium =  12PS+QR×SN

=1230+12×9=189cm2
