JM has been counted as one where as JE and ED are counted separately. Any criteria to define a straight line.

Question:
Find the minimum number of straight lines required to make the given figure.


Options:
A) 16
B) 15
C) 18
D) 19
Solution:

Ans: (b)The horizontal lines are:- IK, HG, AB and DC (4)

The vertical lines are : AD, EH, JM, FG, BC (5)

The Slant lines are:- IE, JD, JC, KF, DH, and GC (6)

Total = 4 + 5 + 6 = 15.
