How the answer will not be response (Question: 112393.1 )

Please explain me in some other way I can't understand this how it is possible

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Which of the words in the following options can be formed using the letter of the given word?

CORRESPONDING
Options:
A) CORRECT
B) DISCERN 
C) REPENT 
D) RESPONSE 
Solution:
There is no ‘T’ in the given word. So, CORRECT and REPENT cannot be formed.
There is only one ‘S’ in the given word. So, RESPONSE cannot be formed.

response contains 2 S whereas corresponding has only 1 S in it
