wrong answer is given

Question:

The roots of a quadratic equation are 4 and 6.The roots of another quadratic equation are 1/4 and 1/6. Which of the following can be the equations?

Options:
A)

ax2 + bx + c = 0 and cx2 + bx + b = 0

B)

bx2 + ax + c = 0 and ax2 + bx + c = 0

C)

bx2 + ax + c = 0 and cx2 + bx + a = 0

D)

bx2 + cx + a = 0 and ax2 + cx + b = 0

Solution:

Ans: (d) As the roots at the second equation are reciprocals of the roots of the first equation, the coefficient of the x2 and constant term interchange their places.

bx2 + cx + a = 0 and ax2 + cx + b = 0 is the required form.
