Profit triples means it should be 3x , why did u put 100+ 3x

Question:

If selling price is doubled, the profit triples. Find the profit percent.

Solution:

Ans: (b)

Let profit is x when CP → 100

SP → 100 + x 

Then, ATQ,  2(100 + x) = 100 + 3x

x = 100
