how can u equate two equation please explain

Question:
If the expression ax3 + 3x2 - 3 and 2x3 - 5x +a when divided by  x-4 leave the same remainder then the value of a is:
Options:
A) 1
B) 0
C) 2
D) - 1
Solution:
Ans: (a)

Since f(x) = ax3 + 3x2 - 3 and g(x) = 2x3 - 5x + a leave the same remainder when divided by x - 4

\(\therefore\) f(4) = g (4)

or a.43 + 3.42 - 3 = 2.43 - 5.4 + a

or 64a + 48 - 3 = 128 - 20 + a

or 63a = 63

or  a  = 1
