i could not under stand your solution please help me

Question:

A water tank is 30 m long, 20 m wide and 12 m deep. It is made of iron sheet which is 3 m wide. The tank is open at the top. If the cost of iron sheet, is Rs.10 per sq. me then the total cost of iron sheet required to build the tank is –

Options:
A)

Rs.6000

B)

Rs.8000

C)

Rs.9000

D)

Rs.18000

Solution:

Ans: (d)

Surface area of tank = 30 × 20 + 2 [20 × 12 + 12 × 30] = 1800 m2 

So, required cost = 1800 × 10 = Rs.18000
