2*height{lenght+breadth} is correct

Question:

The floor of a room is of size 4 m x 3 m and its height is 3 m. The walls and ceiling of the room require painting. The area to be painted is: 

Options:
A) 66 m2
B) 54 m2 
C) 43 m2
D) 33 m2
Solution:

Area of the four walls of the room

=2 x height (length + breath)

= 2 x 3(4+3)=42 sq. metre

Area of ceiling = 4 x 3

= 12 sq. metre

Required area = 42 + 12

= 54 sq. metre
