slipper animalcule. : a ciliated protozoan of the genus Paramecium (especially P. caudatum) that is shaped somewhat like a slipper.
Entamoeba histolytica is an anaerobic parasitic amoebozoan, part of the genus Entamoeba. Predominantly infecting humans and other primates causing amoebiasis, E. histolytica is estimated to infect about 50 million people worldwide.
Paramecium is a unicellular organism with a shape resembling the sole of a shoe. It ranges from 50 to 300um in size which varies from species to species. It is mostly found in a freshwater environment. It is a single-celled eukaryote belonging to kingdom Protista and is a well-known genus of ciliate protozoa.
Giardia is a microscopic parasite that causes the diarrheal illness known as giardiasis. Giardia (also known as Giardia intestinalis, Giardia lamblia, or Giardia duodenalis) is found on surfaces or in soil, food, or water that has been contaminated with feces (poop) from infected humans or animals.
Euglena is a microscopic protozoan that can be found in freshwater and saltwater environments. Euglena contain chloroplast which they can use to photosynthesize sugars. However, unlike algae, they can also ingest bacteria and small microbes for energy and nutrients.
