Question:

     When speed of a car is increased by 8.33% time taken reduces by 10 minutes in covering 80 km distance. What is the actual time taken to cover the same distance by actual speed?

Options:
A)

 1 hr. 10 min.

B)

 2 hrs. 10 min.

C)

 1 hr. 30 min.

D)

 2 hrs.

Solution:

    Speed increased by 8.33%

So new speed =  1+12=1312   

∵Time∝1speed   

So time =  1213   

Decrease in time =  113   

Let old time = T

Then  T×113=13   

T=130    min.
