Solution:
Ans: (d) Maximum value of 2 cos2\(\theta\) + 3 sin2\(\theta\) = 3


2 cos2 + 3 sin2 

   = 2 cos2 + 2 sin2 + sin2 

   = 2(cos2 + sin2) + sin2 

    = 2+ sin2 

Maximum value of sin2 is 1

   = 2+1=3

You need to remember the formula:

If a sin^2x + b cos^2x then

1. If a>b then Max. Value = a and Min. Value = b

2. If b>a then Max. Value = b and Min. Value = a

Here we have given 3 sin^2x + 2 cos^2x. Since, 3>2, so, Max. Value = 3 and Min. Value = 2
