its clear from the vein diagram that there are some deserts which are not mountain ...

Question:
Some statements are given followed by some conclusions. You have to consider the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which of the given conclusions, if any, follow from the given statements. 


Statements: 

All rivers are mountains.

Some rivers are deserts.

Conclusions:

I. Some mountains are deserts.

II. Some deserts are not mountains.

Options:
A) Only I follows.
B) Only II follows.
C) I and II follow.
D) None of these.

Dear Student,
Minimum possibility diagram has been given, apart from this , in all the possible digram, which can be drawn, correct conclusion should occur. Conclusion II doesn't occur in all possible venn-diagram. Hence, Only I follows.

if i can help.... there can be one more possibility for the vein diagram wherein desert circle is cutting rivers circle but desert circle is completely inside the mountain circle.... so there would be no desert which is not a mountain
