this is a very good question , needs to be clearly explained with a video soln if possible

Question:

A thread is wound on a cylinder such that it make exactly twenty-four complete turns around the cylinder. The two ends of thread touch the top and bottom of the cylinder. If the cylinder has a perimeter of 15 cm and its curved surface area is 2880 cm2, then find the length of the string.

A)

308 cm

B)

408 cm

C)

1612 cm

D)

1212 cm

My dear akshay this is a concept of springs i think you are confused in the concept of triplet of 8 15 17. For this take a string and unwind it over any cylinder you will anlayze that the perimeter will be the base and the gap between the string is the height and the hypotenuse is your winding length of one turn.
