too much error in this paper .

Question:

The weight of a body is –

1. Minimum at the poles

2. Maximum at the equator

3. Maximum at the poles

4. Same everywhere on earth

Options:
A)

Only 1 and 2

B)

Only 3

C)

Only 4

D)

Only 2

Solution:

As the gravity is slightly higher at the poles, the weight is more as compared to anywhere else. Also at the poles the centrifugal force is lesser as compared to equator, this is due to reduced angular speed, as the circular motion is of almost negligible radii at the poles.
