3rd one E =.5G written but in question F=0.5 given

Question:

DIRECTIONS: A jeweller has five diamond stones, each having a different weight.

Statement (a): Stone D weighs twice as much as stone E.

Statement (b): Stone E weighs four and one-half times as much as stone F.

Statement (c): Stone F weighs half as much as stone G.

Statement (d): Stone G weighs half as much as stone H.

Statement (e): Stone H weighs less than stone D but more than stone F.

Based on the above statements, answer the following question.

Which of the following is the lightest in weight?

Options:
A)

Stone D

B) Stone E
C) Stone F
D) Stone G
Solution:

..Given,

\(\Rightarrow\)    D= 2E

\(\Rightarrow\)    E = 4.5 F

\(\Rightarrow\)    F =\(\frac{1}{2}\) G

\(\Rightarrow\)    G =\(\frac{1}{2}\) H

\(\Rightarrow\)    D > H > F

 Let

H = 10 so,

G = 10 / 2 = 5

F = 5 /2 = 2.5

E = 2.5 x 4.5 = 11.25

D = 2 x 11.25 = 22.5

So, the order of weights can be D > E > H > G > F.
