Question:

In the given figure, TB passes through center O. What is the radius of the circle?

Options:

(2√5)/3

(3√2)/5

(3√5)/2

Solution:

We know that

$\begin{matrix} P T^{2} = P A \times P B \\ = > 6^{2} = 4 (4 + x) \\ = > 36 = 16 + 4 x \\ ∴ x = 5 c m \\ P B = 4 + 5 = 9 c m \end{matrix}$

Diameter = $T B^{2} = \sqrt{9^{2} - 6^{2}} = 3 \sqrt{5}$

$R = \frac{T B}{2} = \frac{3 \sqrt{5}}{2} c m$
