Its an humble request.
In the above Q: when n is a natural no. only then it is always exactly divisible by 40.

Otherwise, say, put n=3/2, it will not be divisible by 40. then the greatest no. which divides the above expression would be 4.

Pls check and rectify.

Find the greatest number by which the expression 72n - 32n is always exactly divisible , n is natural number

Options:
A) 4
B) 10
C) 20
D) 40
Solution:
Ans:(d) If n=1  then 72 - 32  =40, so the value of given expression will always be a multiple of 40.i.e. the number is always divisible by 40.

72n - 32n  is always divisible by 49 - 9 = 40
