"you" is the subject of "maintain"

Question:

In the following question, some part of the sentence may have errors. Find out which part of the sentence has an error and select the appropriate option. If a sentence is free from error, select ‘No Error’.

True positive thinking starts by embracing reality in its myriad (1)/ shapes and forms; it involves the ability to feel negative emotions when you have to, (2)/ and still maintain hope enough to keep on going. (3)/ No error (4)

Options:
A)

1

B)

2

C)

3

D)

4

Solution:

The error lies in part 3 of the sentence where verb has not been placed according to the subject of the sentence. Here the subject is ‘True positive thinking” which is singular in number so the verb should be in singular form. For this we have to replace maintain with maintains.   (…..and still maintains…)
