but sir possitive triplets also contains 123 234 341 412 321 421 etc etc all the possible triplets

Question:

Average of 4 positive numbers is A. The average of average of all the possible triplets formed out of these four positive numbers is B. which of the following is true regarding A and B?

Options:

A<B

A>B

A-B=0

Can’t be determined

Solution:

Let the numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4

Average of 1, 2, 3, 4 = $\frac{10}{4} = 2.5$

Triplets = (1, 2, 3) (2, 3, 4) (3, 4, 1) (1, 2, 4)

Average of (1, 2, 3) = $\frac{6}{3}$

Average of (2, 3, 4) = $\frac{9}{3}$

Average of (3, 4, 1) = $\frac{8}{3}$

Average of (1, 2, 4) = $\frac{7}{3}$

Average of all average = $\frac{\frac{6}{3} + \frac{7}{3} + \frac{8}{3} + \frac{9}{3}}{4} = 2.5$

So $A = B \Rightarrow A - B = 0$
