The reciprocal of 1/x + 1/(x-2) will be number of hours taken by M & N together to complete the work. so the equation should be
1/x + 1/(x-2) = 1/(35/12)

But in the answer provided it 1/x + 1/(x-2) is equated to 35/12 without inverse...Is that correct..? kindly clarify
Thanks

Question:

‘M’ and ‘N’ can complete a work in 2 hours 55 minutes. ‘M’ alone can do the same work two hours faster than ‘N’ alone can. How long will ‘N’ take to do the work alone?

Options:
A)

B)

4 hours 10 min

C)

D)

7 hours

Solution:
