Could you please explain the solution. How is sec x= cosec y = sec (90-y).
Please elaborate.

Question:
If 0 < x < \(\cfrac{\pi}{2}\) and sec x = cosec y, the value of sin (x + y) is –
Options:
A) 0
B) 1
C) \(\cfrac{1}{2}\)
D) \(\cfrac{1}{\sqrt{3}}\)

Dear Student,

Its Trigonometric formula:
Sec(90-theta)= Cosect(theta)
and Secx=Cosecy is given in the question.
so, Secx=Cosecy=Sec(90-y)
