BUT WE USED TO "LAST NIGHT" IN OUR SICK LEAVE APPLICATION. WAS THAT WRONG??

Question:
DIRECTIONS: A sentence/a part of the sentence is underlined. Four alternatives are given to the underlined part which will improve the sentence. Choose the correct alternative and click the button corresponding to it. In case no improvement is needed, click the button corresponding to "No improvement".

I have not participated in any debate since last ten-year.

Options:
A) since last ten years
B) for last ten years
C) since ten years
D) No Improvement
Solution:
Ex: Since it is ten years it should be FOR because it comes for duration.

SIr, If it would be "for ten years".. I am agree on that. But here "Last" is also used before "ten years" which confirms a definite time period then why not since should be used here?
