A, B and C spend 70%, 75% and 80% respectively of their salaries. Their actual savings are in the ratio of 4 : 5 : 6. What is ratio of their salaries?
Options:
A) 4 : 5 : 6
B) 4 : 6 : 9
C) 6 : 5 : 4
D) 9 : 6 : 4
Solution:
Ans: (b)

Let their savings are 4x, 5x and 6x respectively

Then (100-70)% = 30% of A's salary = 4x

\(\therefore\) A’s salary = \(4x\ \times\cfrac{100}{30}=\cfrac{40x}{3}\)

(100-75)% = 25% of B’s salary = 5x

\(\therefore\) B’s salary = \(5x\ \times\cfrac{100}{25}=20x\)

(100- 80)% = 20% of C’s salary = 6x

\(\therefore\) C’s salary = \(6x\ \times\cfrac{100}{20}=30x\)

\(\therefore\) ratio of their salaries  = \(\cfrac{40}{3}:20:30 = 4 : 6:9\)
