What type of question is this and what type of solution is given. Don't you think that it needs clarification?

Question:

The two lines 3x + 4y = 12 and 2x + 5y = 14, then area of the triangle at the x-axis is

Options:
A)

107    unit2

B)

277    unit2

C)

407   unit2

D)

10 unit2

Solution:

Line 3x + 4y = 12

And line 2x + 5y = 14

3x + 4y = 12    × 2

2x + 5y = 15 × 3

So,    6x + 8y = 24

6x + 15y = 42

So, y =  187

Area of triangle =  12    × 3 ×  187     277    unit2
