how to calculate directly the compuond intrst for 4 years

Question:

Find the difference between the compound interest and the simple Interest on Rs.2,00,000 at 10% p.a. for 4 years.

Options:
A)

Rs. 10,000

B)

Rs. 12,820

C)

Rs. 12,000

D)

Rs. 14,000

Solution:

Ans: (b) Rate = 10%, Time = 4 years

C.I. – S.I. = 2000 + 2000 + 2000 + 2000 + 2000 + 2000 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 200 = Rs. 12,820.

OR

4 years CI at 10% rate = 46.41

\(\therefore\) SI = \(\frac{40.00}{6.41}\)

2000 × \(\frac{6.41}{100}\) = 12820
