for one zero one pair of 2 and 5 is required. for a regular series 5 will occur lesser times than 2...so number of times 5 will occur gives the desired result...
now how to find frequency of 5 ocuring in a series..divide the last term in d series by 5 and note the integral quotient.again divide this quotient by 5 and note the integral quotient and so on till it will be divisible by 5. now add all the noted quotients that will be the desired result.
As here
999/5=199
199/5=39
39/5=7
7/5=1
desired result=199+39+7+1=246
